What's Up?

Hello! It's been a while. Over a year ago, I planned to overhaul the website, but, for a variety of reasons, that never occurred. Life got busy and I had to focus solely on my day job. The overloaded work schedule is coming again soon, but this time, I'm ready.

Much has happened since my last post. I voiced a part in a Librivox.org dramatic reading production of a Carey Rockwell story called, The Revolt On Venus. Click the title if you want to listen to the story. I played Major Lou "Blast Off" Connel, a no nonsense, hard-charging senior officer in the Solar Guard. Had a blast playing him. Phil Chenevert, a fellow former Baton Rouge, LA resident, did a great job producing it.

Several people close to me have passed away, including my father. He wasn't impressed with me being an author, though he did like that I was doing something entrepreneurial. I didn't tell him about doing any voice work. Chances are, he would have approved of my doing that, since he did some voice work himself. The latest friend to pass was Maria Aguilar Coton. We met back when I was a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps decades ago. About eight years ago, she had a life threatening illness and made it through. Around the same time, I finished the first edits of my soon to be published novel, Second Chance. Because she got her second chance, she is one of the people I dedicated the story to. Her passing was the catalyst for my publishing the book which is scheduled for no later than July 15. At this point, I should easily achieve that goal. I lament that the book should have been published years ago. It was difficult to rewrite her dedication. Since it is a time travel story (I guess you can call it paranormal time travel since there is no technology involved) and a chapter intersects with a chapter in The Curse, I'm locked in the timeline between 1987 and 2009.

Speaking of Second Chance, the plan is to publish the e-book, paperback, and hardback books at the same time. I'm uploading and setting them up now. Once they are published, then I will go into my hobo studio and start voicing The Curse and Second Chance. Both will take time, since I'm a one-man operation. I use Audacity, but I'm not completely happy with it.

Though my website overhaul didn't happen, at least not yet, what I want to do with it hasn't changed. I want to make it both an author and voice over website. Now that I know an overloaded work schedule and workload are coming soon, I'll have to find time somewhere to get the job done.

After Second Chance is published, Timewatch will be the next story I'll focus on. It, too, has been on deck for too long and needs to be published. After that, then I'll voice it and Rickshaw, New Mexico, and then focus on the second Joel Brent book, Lake Ramsey.

That's it for now. Thank you for taking the time to read my entry. Have a great day!!

And Sometimes, You Were Right in the First Place

Huh? Yup. In my last post, I said I was wrong about using the existing cover of Second Chance and decided to replace it with another design. Well, I've been convinced to keep the original cover. It be

And Sometimes, You're Wrong

When I published Second Chance, I fully believed the cover accurately reflected Gus Harrison's immaturity in the story. Instead, it appears I'm the only one who sees the cover this way. No problem. Wh
